You can't convince me that there isn't at least a little bit of jealousy in Sayaka's animosity toward Homura, the way it shows up so regularly across different timelines. That there isn't a touch of real feeling hidden under the joking and bluster of "you're gonna be my wife, Madoka!" Because Sayaka is the kind of person who's afraid of what will happen if she's sincere about her feelings, so she redirects them into a performance, something she can laugh off.

And Madoka, once she knows to take it seriously, is the kind of person who will respond without shame or hesitation.
