Steve Carlsberg just does not appreciate Cecil's pain. What a jerk.

Cecil: I'm not talking to him ever again. I am going to stay here and drink your alcohol until the pain stops, which will be never. I'm living here now. This is my corner.

Steve: Cecil, you're being ridiculously overdramatic again.

Cecil: I don't care. You heard what he said! He probably despises me and is looking forward to leaving Night Vale so he can go make out with botanists again. And they're probably really hot botanists who don't ruin things by revealing you're destined to betray a town and ruin your life forever.

Steve: You have not ruined his life forever.

Cecil: I've ruined his life in Night Vale forever! And he said he loved this town, so that's close enough.

Renee: Dad, is Mr. Cecil staying overnight in abject despair again?

Steve: Probably. Let's get the couch ready.

Cecil: I said I'm living in the corner now! I don't deserve the couch.

Steve: Cecil, even if everything you said was true, which it isn't, you deserve the freaking couch. And you may be out of his league, but you're still a better catch than whatever hypothetical hot botanists there are. SO TAKE THE COUCH ALREADY.

Khoshekh: Let him wallow in the corner for now, will you? He's happily miserable here, you know we won't be able to reason with him now. We'll move to the couch eventually.
