Night Vale PTA Meeting by ErinPtah Night Vale PTA Meeting by ErinPtah
Clockwise from top left: THE GLOW CLOUD, School Board president; Steve Carlsberg, bringing scones; Old Woman Josie and her angels, bringing muffins with no salt; and Cecil, yelling at Steve for his unacceptably dry scones (but eating them anyway).

The wheels-and-eyes angel is one of the Ophanim. The dark fluffy one is, I believe, a Muppet.

Epic Glow Cloud is epic.  I picture a yellow dust cloud raining carrion and flashing with white lightning myself.  :XD: Your Steve is totally adorbs!  Hardly anyone does fan art of that guy; damn you Cecil for turning us against a totally nice, if more than a little too obvious, guy.  Janice is totally cool too.

Poor Steve gets in enough trouble (with the police, the shadow government, etc) on his own without Cecil helping ^_^;

I hope Janice is cool! If we ever get an episode where we meet her...

Well, we know she's a girl scout, and that she's in a wheel chair.  Steve was such a boss for taking on Lauren after telling him Janice was flawed.  I totally fangirled when Cecil said he didn't totally hate him and then Steve gave him a hug!

Picky correction: we don't know she's in a wheelchair, we know that "she can't walk". This being Night Vale, that could also mean she rides a giant scorpion everywhere. Or has a hoverboard. Or can fly.

And we don't know anything about her personality, is what I meant. We don't know if she's a nice, friendly Girl Scout with a disability, or if she's a mean, bullying Girl Scout with a disability.

I have such complicated feelings about that Steve scene. Strexcorp obviously has ulterior motives for everything, but there's nothing inherently evil about offering treatments that give disabled people a higher level of function. (Have you seen the TED talk by the guy with two bionic legs?) Not everyone wants them, and that's fine -- but what does Janice want? We don't know if Steve is actually defending her, or if he's defending his own idea of what's best for her, regardless of how she feels about it.

Any time Steve hugs Cecil is definitely adorable, though. As is Cecil grudgingly admitting that Steve isn't so bad.

Hmm… you pose a pretty good point.  I mean we have a kid who was a man's left hand until someone offered to be a body for her.  I like to believe the best, and I recall Steve asking about wheel chair accessibility in Old Oak Doors.  Strexcorp's ultimate motive is to work you until your corpse drops to the ground, unable to drive the profits any higher.  They give you benefits so you can devote every hour of your day to work; remember the "Company Picnic"?  :fear::puke: Terrible.
As terrible as Night Vale is, with all its supernatural activity; journalists wielding hatchets for bloggers; 13 year olds who know how to use guns; vague yet menacing government agencies; and faceless neighbors, at least they give you the option as to whether to go along with it or not, not even bothering to cover up a government control plan when Pamela Winchel and others try to put it into effect.  Desert Bluffs… they don't even bother to read between the lines to obvious government conspiracy plots, and Kevin is the worst of them.  I don't regret Cecil and Khoshek (Or was it Steve?) pushing him through the door to the barren desert with the lighthouse… of course, that means he's in there with Carlos too right now.  Scary thought, right?

Nah, Steve's never mentioned wheelchairs. (Here's a set of transcripts, if you want to check into things.) There's a subplot about trying to get a wheelchair ramp at a school back in e034 A Beautiful Dream, but that, in turn, doesn't specifically mention Janice.

Strexcorp is evil, no question.

Kevin went through some kind of Strex-induced brainwashing thing -- he hints in OOD that he used to be as much of a rebel as Cecil. I mostly feel bad for him. Although with Steve pushing him into the same desert that Carlos got left in, I also feel pretty worried for Carlos...
